Kara Landolfi & Marcus Hockett
Kara LOVES food, eating it, cooking it, and acquiring it. She started out as a hippy hipster vegan, dumpster diving for thrown out bread, but has morphed into a backcountry badass who arrows elk on public land to fill the freezer. Her passion for food has also led to her career as the Supply Chain Manager for Montana State University’s Culinary Services where she gets to work towards creating an incredible dining experience for students. Working within the industrial food system gives her a unique appreciation for the wild food system where she acquires all of her own meat. Whether it’s bagging peaks or tasty critters, exploring the public lands of the west gives her tremendous joy (as long as there’s plenty of snacks).
For Marcus, a career path that started out in wildlife science somehow turned into documentary filmmaking which somehow turned into being Randy Newberg's camera guy. Working for Fresh Tracks has allowed Marcus to combine many of his passions into a dream job telling stories through the lens of a camera, visiting amazing places and meeting incredible people. His hunting addiction is insatiable which encourages him to spend time helping friends and family fill their tags. Not a week has gone by that Marcus hasn't been out enjoying public land or waters in some fashion and most often accompanied by his adventure partner and wife Kara.
